Big Thunder Grange, the Boone County Fair board, and the six other county granges were given three minutes to fill their shopping carts with as much food as they could load into it, and the food was then tallied up by cashiers and loaded on the food pantry's new truck and taken to the pantry. The eight groups collected a total of 2,352 non-perishable food items with a retail value of $3,493 for the pantry. Big Thunder Grange collected the most food - 517 non-perishable food items with a retail value of $847. Big Thunder Grange also was awarded a trophy for having the best costumes. "The Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry has been blessed by this huge amount of food collected each year, and we want to thank Pacemaker and all the granges for their continuted support of our facility," said Linda Clark, executive director of the pantry.
